An Introduction to Project Management Fifth Edition With a Brief Guide to Microsoft Project 2013 Kathy Schwalbe Books Reviews

  • I'm currently using it in my Project management class and it does a good job of explaining things; though sometimes I get a little confused when the author refers to outside materials or her way of teaching but that's more than likely my own issue and didn't really impact my rating.

I gave 4 stars because I have the version and on the version it doesn't show page numbers, which mean I have to look at another class mates physical copy to see where we need to go. There is a "Go to" option which should take you to specific pages, but it doesn't number them correctly. It "numbers" the pages according to how many pages are actually in the book, so that includes table of contents and such, which makes getting to a specific page I need for class really difficult/inconvenient. Instead of page numbers at the bottom there is a percentage for how much into the book you are.

If this were fixed I would change my rating. The actual content of the text book is fine so far.
  • This book provides a very easy to follow write up of the essentials of Project Management. Where the PMBOK Guide is repetitive and dry, this book provides real examples and walks you through a case study from beginning to end. I suggest this book in addition to the PMBOK as the two books combined really help the reader/student understand the principles and the core components of Project Management.
  • The content of the book is very interested and has been very helpful, but it doesn't show the page number. It only shows the location number which has giving me hard time to locate the referenced pages. I have to ask the professor for clue to locate the topic to study.
  • Since I passed the class, I'm going to go ahead and say that it did its job.
  • great general textbook with good examples for project management
  • I love the version because I can highlight, unhighlight, add notes and more.
  • Good
  • Great price
