In today's technology driven environment of social media and abundant information available with the click of a computer mouse, there is no doubt that corporate leadership principles and values need to adapt or otherwise suffer failure for yesteryear's' out of touch principles and notions. Many Management Theorists and Futurists have written on the topic. To date, no one has put forth as entertaining and educational a book as Giraffes of Technology - The Making of the Twenty-First-Century Leader. In Giraffes, Dr. Hubert Glover (with Co-Author John Curry) has woven a fine mosaic that works on many levels including powerful personal anecdotes, the role of giraffes and lions on the African Savannah and how giraffes and lions can be related through metaphor to leadership in our global economy/ technological environment.
In a thoughtful and compelling thread throughout the Book, the giraffe's forward movement to graze and feed is equated to 21st century learning (Dr. Glover argues that today's leaders must embrace technology for learning and moving forward). The obstacles and roadblocks to learning and change are portrayed as lions on the prowl that must be recognized, dealt with and overcome.
Giraffes author's life is also a storyline that is both entertaining to read and inspirational. Dr. Glover's life journey is chronicled as extremely positive and upbeat; at the same time, the reader cannot help being touched and inspired by how the Author faced and overcame African American challenges to become highly successful in business and academia.

In topics as critical as Famine Around the Globe, readers are challenged to consider personal characteristics such as Selfishness and Empathy.
Giraffes' strong research is demonstrated with concise case references to business (and leadership) successes and failures.
